Undertale's Glamburger Wasn't Always Edible

Y'all know Undertale. It's a fantastic indie RPG by Toby Fox. Be a pacifists, don't all that jazz.

In the latter half of the game, you have to fight a robot performer named Mettaton. Before that fight, you can visit a parody of a fast food joint named Burgerpants (love that, btw), where they sell various capitalisticly branded food items like a Mettaton Steak and something called the Glamburger. The item description mentions it being covered in edible decorations.

A hamburger made of edible glitter and sequins.

It makes a point to mention being edible, but that wasn't always the case.

The Original Description

In a Kickstarter update back in 2015, Toby Fox announced a few new items being added to the in-progress game. The glamburger was included, with it's original description.

A hamburger made of glittery sequins. Eating it makes you more popular, but it's expensive.

Does this mean they were originally inedible? Is this some big dramatic ARG style reveal of deep Undertale lore that Toby Fox didn't think we'd ever find?? WHAT DOES IT MEAN???

I've never been on the Undertale Subreddit, but this is what I imagine it must be like there.
